Alcatraz 2025 update
We’re thrilled to announce several novelties as well as another string of bands for Alcatraz 2025:
Every visitor with a combi ticket and/or camping ticket has access to the festival grounds on Thursday 7 August 2025. The place to be: the Swamp and Helldorado!
American hard rock & funk metal band Extreme will be headlining the Prison Stage on Saturday 9 August.
After Extreme, crowd favourites and special guests Avatar will close proceedings on the Prison Stage.
American punk rock / funk metal / nu-metal legends Snot(Band) are replacing Bloodclot who, unfortunately, will not be attending our little shindig in Kortrijk next summer.
The same goes for Full of Hell, whose slot will be taken over by death metal / hardcore / sludge merchants Mammoth Grinder.
And there’s more good news because The Hellacopters, Wolfmother, Helmet, Evergrey, Wednesday 13, Warbringer, HERIOT, Slomosa, Frayle, MYRATH, Frog Leap Studios and Liliac have also been added to our 2025 line-up.

In response to the growing demand we’ve been able to arrange additional parking capacity for motorhomes. Nevertheless, it’s still a good idea to book your slot asap because there’s a long list of applications!

At this year’s festival, we announced 15 acts for Alcatraz 2025 and today we’re adding no fewer than 67 names to next year’s line-up. Meanwhile, Machine Head have been joined on the Prison Stage by co-headliners Kreator. 
Once again, we have dipped into a broad spectrum of genres in search of niche acts that offer added value. The backbone of our festival formula remains a mix of styles, a combination of established and emerging bands, as well as a strong focus on atmosphere and conviviality.
You may have noticed that the list of 82 confirmed bands doesn’t include any Belgian acts but that will change shortly.
By the way, those of you who buy a combi ticket are in for an unexpected but pleasant surprise.
In addition, we still have a batch of excellent international bands up our sleeve and opening Thursday is getting a makeover.
