When we announced AthensRocks 2020, we surely did not expect that we would have a summer without concerts.
However, the unpleasant developments brought by the pandemic, as well as the government’s announcements, lead us to the postponement of this year’s edition of AthensRocks, which will not take place on June 14th 2020.
We are in contact with the artists that would perform at the festival and very soon we will announce its new date for 2021, as well as information regarding ticket holders.
We ask for your understanding and patience regarding any delay that might occur, due to the unprecedented situation we face.
We respect your support, thank you for your trust and work in order to reciprocate!
We would like to express our solidarity and support to everyone who works with us in concert production and generally in the show business, since they are confronted with an unknown professional future and we request from the state to act accordingly and take measures immediately to protect the industry.
The show must go on! The concerts and festivals we love do not end here. We’ll meet again side by side, in front of a stage and our favourite band will ask us to sing louder, with all the strength of our soul! We keep on listening to music, so that apart from safe, our lives are more beautiful!

AthensRocks returns and presents the best rock band of the decade!
Athens, rocking out this summer, welcomes the likes of Matt Berninger (vocals), Aaron Dessner (guitars, piano, keyboards), Bryce Dessner (guitars, piano, keys), Scott Devendorf (bass) and Bryan Devendorf (drums).
Completing 20 years of musical life, The National is by far the most important indie rock band, as their amazing recordings and thrilling live shows testify. From the 2001 album to this year’s “I Am Easy to Find”, they inspired their sound with words, making the soundtrack of a whole generation. A profound insight into Berninger’s poetic soul gave birth to musical moments that became memories for millions of fans around the world.
Unique to their unrelenting, artistic, whimsical, yet addictive songs, Matt’s captivating voice became the band’s first trademark. It was followed by the Dessner brothers ‘guitar lines and the robust Devendorf brothers’ rhythm section, to give the public four of the most important records of the last 20 years. “Alligator”, “Boxer”, “High Violet” & “Trouble Will Find Me” respectively, put their fans very hard to ask which is their best record.
Slow and deafening, melancholic and ecstatic, they scorched many songs. For every “Mistaken for Strangers”, “I Need My Girl” and “Slow Show” and a “Lemonworld”, for every “Conversation 16”, “Runaway” and “Afraid of Everyone” and a “Sea of Love”. With the documentary “Mistaken for Strangers” watching their actions from Berninger’s (Matt’s brother’s) emotional and hilarious look, the film community is now constantly repeating their name. Their popularity has soared, the sold out shows have multiplied, and “Sleep Well Beast” has come to crown them. With headline appearances at major festivals, The National is now the best thing in music reality.
Masterpiece artworks dress up their laxative compositions, which make our world a little more aesthetic, a little better.
On Sunday, June 14, 2020, they will make a stop in Athens and OAKA, to the satisfaction of Greek musicians, who demanded to see the most important rock band of the decade at the best moment of their careers.

It’s true! One of the most talked about bands of the last few years, they will be coming to Greece for the first time on Sunday June 14th! Idles, treated by audiences and musicians like the Punk Messengers, came to give life’s kiss to a kind that looked like a bondage to its past.
In front of the eccentric genius Joe Talbot, two of the most important discs of the last five years have been released, laughing at every bit of sound we’ve heard in a long time. The 2017 “Brutalism” flattened everything in front of it and punctuated every updated list of the best records of the year.
This is how the Idles neo-punk rumble, who was not afraid to post whenever he wanted, spitting genius lyrics into the faces of rock and roll fans, boring clichés. A year after the “Joy as an Act of Resistance” affirmed that the myth born around their name would continue for many years.
Moving out of any musical norm, they become the voice of solidarity for all who come out, setting up a perverse audio show that swallows you up without any resistance. Repulsive music of a boiling generation, they reach the peak of their creativity for the first time in our lands!

Το AthensRocks επιστρέφει και παρουσιάζει την καλύτερη ροκ μπάντα της δεκαετίας!
Η Αθήνα ροκάροντας κι αυτό το καλοκαίρι, υποδέχεται με μεγάλη χαρά τους κυρίους Matt Berninger (φωνητικά), Aaron Dessner (κιθάρες, πιάνο, πλήκτρα), Bryce Dessner (κιθάρες, πιάνο, πλήκτρα), Scott Devendorf (μπάσο) και Bryan Devendorf (ντραμς).
Συμπληρώνοντας 20 χρόνια στα μουσικά δρώμενα, οι The National είναι δίχως άλλο το πιο σημαντικό indie rock συγκρότημα, όπως μαρτυρούν οι καταπληκτικοί δίσκοι τους και τα συγκλονιστικά live τους. Από τον ομώνυμο δίσκο του 2001 μέχρι το φετινό “I Am Easy to Find”, έντυσαν εμπνευσμένα με λέξεις τους ήχους τους, φτιάχνοντας το soundtrack μιας ολόκληρης γενιάς. Μια βαθιά ενδοσκόπηση στην ποιητική ψυχή του Berninger, γέννησε μουσικές στιγμές που έγιναν αναμνήσεις για εκατομμύρια fans στον κόσμο.
Ερμηνεύοντας μοναδικά τα ατίθασα, καλλιτεχνικά, ιδιότροπα, μα εθιστικά τραγούδια τους, η μαγευτική φωνή του Matt, έγινε το πρώτο σήμα κατατεθέν του γκρουπ. Ακολούθησαν οι κιθαριστικές γραμμές των αδερφών Dessner και το στιβαρό rhythm section των αδερφών Devendorf, για να δώσει στο κοινό τέσσερις από τους σημαντικότερους δίσκους των τελευταίων 20 ετών. “Alligator”, “Boxer”, “High Violet” & “Trouble Will Find Me” κατά σειρά, έβαλαν πολύ δύσκολα στους οπαδούς τους, στην ερώτηση του ποιος είναι ο καλύτερος δίσκος τους.
Βραδυφλεγείς κι εκκωφαντικοί, μελαγχολικοί κι εκστατικοί, σκάρωσαν μπόλικες τραγουδάρες. Για κάθε “Mistaken for Strangers”, “I Need My girl” και “Slow Show” κι ένα “Lemonworld”, για κάθε “Conversation 16”, “Runaway” και “Afraid of Everyone” κι ένα “Sea of Love”. Με το ντοκιμαντέρ “Mistaken for Strangers” να παρακολουθεί τα πεπραγμένα τους από την ωμά συναισθηματική και ξεκαρδιστική ματιά του Berninger (αδελφού του Matt), η κινηματογραφική κοινότητα επαναλάμβανε πλέον συνεχώς το όνομά τους. Η δημοτικότητά τους εκτοξεύθηκε, τα sold out shows πολλαπλασιάστηκαν και το “Sleep Well Beast” ήρθε σαν επιστέγασμα των προσπαθειών τους, να τους απογειώσει. Με headline εμφανίσεις στα σπουδαιότερα festivals, οι The National είναι πια το best thing της μουσικής πραγματικότητας.
Αριστουργηματικά artworks ντύνουν τις καθαρτικές συνθέσεις τους, που κάνουν τον κόσμο μας λίγο πιο αισθαντικό, λίγο καλύτερο.
Την Κυριακή 14 Ιουνίου 2020, θα κάνουν μια στάση στην Αθήνα και το ΟΑΚΑ, ικανοποιώντας τους Έλληνες μουσικόφιλους, που απαιτούσαν να δουν επί σκηνής την πιο σημαντική ροκ μπάντα της δεκαετίας, στην καλύτερη στιγμή της καριέρας τους.

Eίναι αλήθεια! Μια από τις πιο συζητημένες μπάντες των τελευταίων ετών, θα έρθουν για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα την Κυριακή 14 Ιουνίου! Οι IDLES, αντιμετωπίζονται από κοινό και μουσικόφιλους σαν τους Μεσσίες της Punk, που ήρθαν να δώσουν το φιλί της ζωής σε ένα είδος που έμοιαζε δέσμιο του παρελθόντος του.
Με μπροστάρη τον εκκεντρικά ιδιοφυή Joe Talbot, έχουν κυκλοφορήσει 2 από τους πιο σημαντικούς δίσκους της τελευταίας πενταετίας, γελώντας στα μούτρα κάθε κλισέ ήχου που ακούσαμε εδώ και καιρό. Το “Brutalism” του 2017, ισοπέδωσε τα πάντα εμπρός του και τρύπωσε σε κάθε ενημερωμένη λίστα με τους καλύτερους δίσκους της χρονιάς.
Κάπως έτσι εγένετο η neo-punk λαίλαπα των IDLES, που δεν φοβόταν να postάρει όποτε ήθελε, φτύνοντας ιδιοφυείς στίχους στο πρόσωπο όσων οικειοποιούνται το ροκ εντ ρολ πνεύμα, αναμασώντας βαρετά κλισέ. Ένα χρόνο μετά το “Joy as an Act of Resistance” επιβεβαίωσε πως ο μύθος που γεννήθηκε γύρω από το όνομά τους, θα συνεχιστεί για πολλά χρόνια.
Κινούμενοι έξω από κάθε μουσική νόρμα, γίνονται η φωνή αλληλεγγύης όλων όσων βάλλονται, στήνοντας ένα διεστραμμένο ηχητικό show, που σε καταπίνει χωρίς καμία αντίσταση. Μουσικό απωθημένο μιας γενιάς που βράζει, καταφθάνουν στο peak της δημιουργικότητάς τους για πρώτη φορά στα μέρη μας!
