EJEKT FESTIVAL 2017
THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN
PETER HOOK & THE LIGHT
BLACK HAT BONES
After Kasabian and The Jesus And Mary Chain have already been announced, three more names are added to the line-up of the second day of the EJEKT Festival 2017: Peter Hook & The Light, Of Montreal and Black Hat Bones complete their program July 14th.
Peter Hook, an iconic figure of British music and a founding member of the Joy Division and New Order, returns to EJEKT Festival together with The Light to present the famous “Unknown Pleasures” in its entirety. The Joy Division masterpiece is one of the albums that changed modern music, defining the type of post-punk and giving us singles such as “She’s Lost Control”, “New Dawn Fades” and “Shadowplay”.
The Of Montreal is the epitome of the experimental pop band of contemporary independent music. Overbearing Kevin Barnes has already offered us 14 albums, as well as a plethora of parallel releases, covering a particularly wide range of sound from psychedelic pop to indie-rock to r’n’b and electronic music. The recognition from the wider audience came with the appearance of Georgie Fruit, Barnes’s alter-ego, remarkably reminiscent of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust, whom we met in the album “Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?” And then in “Skeletal Lamping “. The live shows of Of Montreal are unique experiences, which we will have the chance to enjoy at the EJEKT Festival 2017.
Black Hat Bones has just released their second album “Born In A Thunder”, which confirms that they have full rock’n’roll and heavy rock form. Those who have seen them on stage know that their live is an adrenaline party.
The remaining names of the EJEKT Festival 2017 will be announced shortly.

The great return of Kasabian to the stage of EJEKT Festival is especially pleasing to us, as this band can make everyone stop dancing! Some of the most memorable memories of the EJEKT Festival have been written when these awesome Britons are on stage at Water Square!
Kasabian have the magic recipe that allows them to write songs that conquer charts and lists of radio stations, fill stadiums and make you dance! They certify hymns such as “Fire”, “Days Are Forgotten”, “Club Foot”, “L.S.F. Lost Souls Forever “,” Eez-Eh “,” Underdog “,” Shoot the Runner “,” Empire “,” Velocipator “, Switchblade Smiles. And these are just a few of the great hits of the biggest rock band that Britain has taken over the past two decades!
Their career is the definition of success! They have conquered four (!) Different discs on the top of the British albums chart, winning double and triple platinums! They have won awards and countless nominations (Brit Awards, Mojo, Q, NME). They are permanent headliners at the world’s top festivals.
And all this is going on in unimaginable rhythms, especially in view of the release of their 6th album, which is expected on April 28, with the first single being released on March 17th. The information speaks of a return to the “grand” sound that established them.
Until then, we’re on fire!
The Jesus And Mary Chain
The return of The Jesus And Mary Chain to Athens is a concert event! On 14th July at Waterloo, Reid brothers will give their first concert in our country after two decades!
One of the most influential bands in the history of modern music, The Jesus And Mary Chain succeeded with their masterpiece debut “Psychocandy” (released in 1985 with Bobby Gillespie in drums) to change the rock music. Combining pop form with guitar noise, this album opened the way for alternative rock and shoegaze. Thanks to songs such as “Just Like Honey” and “Never Understand,” a whole generation of musicians (with My Bloody Valentine) recognized the Reid brothers as their own Velvet Underground. Today, the album is on all the serious lists with the best records of all time.
With such an important album in their beginnings, it makes sense that comparisons to what they would do in their later career would be unequal. But how many times can a band change the history of music?
