Sofia Drum Fest - 10 септември 2023 - Grindhouse Skateboard Club, София
На 10-ти септември ще се проведе за четвърти път Sofia Drum Fest, единственият ежегоден барабанен фестивал в България, а може би и на Балканите! Фестивалът отново ще има международно участие, като заедно с едни от най-добрите български барабанисти, на сцената ще се качат двама участници от чужбина.
Събитието ще се проведе на същата локация като миналата година - Grindhouse Skateboard Club, като участниците ще свирят на две сцени, една на открито и една на закрито.

Вратите ще отворят в 15:00 ч., а фестивалът ще започне в 16:00 ч.
Всичко ще приключи в 22:00 ч., за да няма възрастови ограничения, като деца под 10 години ще влизат безплатно!

Ето и артистите:
-Gergo Borlai, един от най-добрите барабанисти в цялата вселена, е професионален барабанист, продуцент и композитор, който живее от години в Лос Анджелис и Барселона, но е родом от Унгария. Започва да свири на барабани на три-годишна възраст, като една от първите мелодии, които научава е "Take Five" на Dave Brubeck, а когато е на 15 г. вече свири с едни от най-успешните унгарски изпълнители. Името му е замесено в над 500 албума, работейки освен като барабанисти и като композитор и продуцент. Три пъти печели наградата "Drummer of the Year", два пъти "Gold Record Awards" също и "The Golden Drumstick Prize" и наградата на Fonogram “Jazz Album of the Year.
Герго печели и трето място в анкетата на списание Modern Drummer в категорията “Best All-Around Drummer" през 2019, като челната тройка допълват легенди като Vinnie Colaiuta и Steve Smith.
През 2020 г. е обсъждан за номинация за Грамми в две различни категории с последния му солов албум "The Missing Song".
През 2021 г., най-легендарната компания за производство на барабани, Gretsch изкарват Gergo Borlai Signature соло барабанче.

-Chus Gancedo е един от най-заетите испански барабанисти. Малко след като завършва в лондонския университет LCCM с почести, започва да турира и записва с най-различни испански артисти, а през 2021 издава и барабанна школа, базирана върху техниката на свирене в ръцете. В днешно време Gancedo се занимава с барабанни клиники и мастъркласове, като през 2023 г. участва и в един от най-големите барабанни лагери в света Lab Drum Camp в Гърция, рамо до рамо с барабанисти като Gergo Borlai, Eric Moore, Dave DiCenso и др. На Sofia Drum Fest ще изсвири едни от любимите си мелодии, отворено соло, ще представи барабанната си школа и ще поговори за техниката на ръцете и различните времеви манипулации, които можем да апликираме върху барабаните.
-Боян "Бонзи" Георгиев или както е по-известен като Бонзи от Odd Crew e основната движеща сила на цялото събитие, той е и единственият ежегоден участник(поне за сега). Този път ще ни изсвири няколко песни от предстоящия да излезе малко по-късно нов албум на Odd Crew, ще говори за това какво е да бъдеш в една група 25 години, както и за различните си концепции за упражняване на отделните компоненти от свиренето на барабани - техника в ръцете и краката, различните захвати на палката, трите основни позиции на matched grip(немска, френска и американска), координация, звукоизвличане и тайминг. Естествено ще отговаря и на неудобни въпроси от публиката.
-Борислав Петров, познат ни от музикалните проекти Jazzanitza, The Oldie Goldies, Asymmetronica, Angel Demirev Trio, както с работата си по видеата от поредиците "Folk Drummers of Bulgaria" и "Masters of Balkan Drumming", а и като единствения преподавател по барабани в "Нов Български Университет" от 2018 г. насам, от скоро и като част от екипа на Bonzy Drum School. Боби Петров ще изсвири няколко различни композиции в различните стилове, в които е творил през 30-те си години практика зад барабаните и ще поговори за Мелодичното свирене на барабани. Как да бъдем по-музикални на барабаните. Как да свирим мелодично във всеки стил. Как да композираме на инструмента, използвайки различни изразни средства, като например рудиментите.
-Владислав Зидаров, който ще отвори феста с първата си барабанна клиника. Познат ни от групите Nana & The Gang, Уикеда и Подуене Блус Бенд, на Sofia Drum Fest той ще представи своята iFill Concept. Система, която е разработил за създаване на брейкове (филове). Също така ще ни даде някои приятни и забавни идеи как да избягаме от скуката, когато се упражняваме зад барабаните или на практис пад.
С Влади ще можете и да си поговорите как да бъдем по-търсени музиканти и за нещата, които ще ни доближат повече до мечтата, а именно - да живеем от музика.

On the 10th of September Sofia Drum Fest will take place for the fourth time. The only annual drum fest in Bulgaria will have two international artists together with some of the best Bulgarian drummers.
The fest will take place on the same location as last year, Grindhouse Skateclub and the artists will play on two different stages, one in-door and one out-door.
Doors will open at 15:00, the festival starts at 16:00.
Everything ends at 222:00 so the event can be all ages. Kids up to 10 years of age are not charge entrance.

The Artists:
-Gergo Borlai, one of the best drummers in the universe is a Los Angeles/Barcelona based professional drummer, composer, producer originally from Hungary.
He started playing drums at age of 3 and started being professional session/touring drummer and play with the most successful artists in Hungary at age of 15.
Gergo Borlai has appeared on more than 500 albums (as drummer/ composer/producer), won 3 times “drummer of the year” awards, and two "gold record awards," as well as the Golden Drumstick Prize and Fonogram’s “Jazz album of the year
2021”.
Gergo also took the 3rd place of Modern Drummer’s Poll in “best all-around drummer in 2019” behind legendary drummers like Vinnie Colaiuta and Steve Smith.
In 2020 Gergo was considered for Grammy Award nomination in two categories with his last solo album(The Missing Song).
In 2021, the world’s most historical drum company, Gretsch released the Gergo Borlai Signature snare drum.
Besides being a band member and session/ studio musician of world renown productions and with multi Grammy awarded musicians, Gergo also became a clinician/educator all over the globe.

-Chus Gancedo is one of the hardest working drummers from Spain. He graduated with honors from London´s LCCM and started touring and recording with many artists in his country. He´s released a drum method in 2021 based in hand technique and currently is doing clinics and masterclasses all around Spain. In 2023 he participated in the LABCAMP in Greece with other drummers such as Gergo Borlai, Eric Moore and Dave Dicenso among other great drummers.
On the Sofia Drum Fest, Chus Gancedo will play some of his favourite tunes, an open solo and will talk about hand technique and time manipulation. And of course answer questions from the audience.

-Boyan "Bonzy" Georgiev.
Bonzy or Bonzy of Odd Crew as he is better-known is the main reason for the existence of Sofia Drum Fest as organiser and the only artist to participate every year. This time he'll play songs from the scheduled for release later this year new album of Odd Crew, he'll talk about what it’s like to be playing in the same band for over 25 years and for his concepts of exercising the different elements of drumming - hand and foot technique, different gripping of the sticks, the three main positions of matched grip (German, French & American), coordination, sound extraction and timing. Of course he'll answer questions from the audience too.
-Borislav Petrov, which we know from the projects Jazzanitza, The Oldie Goldies, Asymmetronica, Angel Demirev Trio, as well as his work on "Folk Drummers of Bulgaria" and "Masters of Balkan Drumming" video series, as well as the only drum teacher in "New Bulgarian University" since 2018 and as one of the Bonzy Drum School's teachers.
He will play compositions from the different styles he played in his already 30-year-long career and will talk about the melodic drumming. How to be more musical on the drums. How to play melodically in any style. How to compose on the instrument using different tools, like rudiments for example.
-Vladislav Zidarov will open Sofia Drum Fest 2023 with his first ever drum clinic. We know him from the bands Nana & The Gang, Wickeda & Poduene Blues Band.
At the festival he will present his iFill Concept. A system that he developed for creating drum fills. He will give you interesting ideas for practicing without getting bored behind the drums or your practice pad.
You can also talk with Vladi about how to become a wanted musician and the things that can get us closer to our dream and that is – making a living out of music.
