SUBCARPATI is a modern cultural manifesto. The music project began in 2010 and mixes elements of electronic music and hip-hop influences with the Romanian folklore. The genre is called modern underground folklore and consists usually of reinterpretations of songs from the Romanian folklore to modern rhythms. The band was described by The Guardian as an explosive mix between old and new. It's an eclectic combination that brings together melancholy Romanian folk songs, Romanian unity songs, traditional instruments and the rhythms of trip-hop, dubstep, hip-hop and dancehall.

SUBCARPATI ist ein modernes Kulturmanifest. Das Musikprojekt begann im Jahr 2010 und vermischt Elemente von elektronischer Musik und Hip-Hop-Einflüssen mit der rumänischen Folklore. Die Musikrichtung wird als moderne Underground-Folklore bezeichnet und besteht in der Regel aus Neuinterpretationen von Liedern aus der rumänischen Folklore zu modernen Rhythmen. Die Band wurde von The Guardian als eine explosive Mischung zwischen altem und neuem beschrieben. Es bringt eine eklektische Synthese aus melancholischen rumänischen Volks- und Einheitsliedern, traditionellen Instrumenten und Rhythmen vom Trip-Hop, Dubstep, Hip-Hop und Dancehall zusammen.
