Leider haben wir schlechte Nachrichten:

Wir haben uns schweren Herzens dazu entschlossen das Hell-Awaits Festival 2022 abzusagen.

Die Gründe für die Absage sind unterschiedlicher Natur. Die Absage des Headliners, die anhaltende Corona Unsicherheit, der Krieg in der Ukraine und die weiter steigende Inflation lassen eine Durchführung des Festivals, so wie wir und das für alle Beteiligten vorstellen, nicht zu.

Wir möchten uns hiermit bei allen Bands, Fans, Medien und Suppliern für ihre Unterstützung bedanken.

Alle bisher gekauften Tickets könnt ihr bei den jeweiligen Vorverkaufsstellen zurückgegeben und diese werden ausbezahlt – es werden KEINE Gutscheine ausgegeben

Unfortunately we have some bad news to report:

With a heavy heart we have to inform you that this year’s Hell Awaits festival 2022 in Wiesen – Austria will not happen.

The cancellation of the headliner, the ongoing Corona insecurity, and war in the Ukraine had a very negative impact on last month’s ticket sales.

On top of things we face heavy inflation in literally every logistical sector, which makes it impossible to organize the festival on the high-end level we previously planned.

We therefore now prefer to pull the plug, even when this decision was not an easy one at all.

We herewith want to thank all bands, fans and media which supported us.

The tickets purchased so far obviously can be returned to the respective ticket agencies and will be paid out within the next weeks – NO vouchers will be issued

The new Metal Festival in Wiesen/Austria, which will celebrate its premiere from 22nd to 23rd July 2022, presents itself under the metal-cult motto Hell Awaits.

With the covered outdoor area and a second stage in the hall, the Hell Awaits offers optimal and above all weather-independent conditions, both for the more than 30 bands represented across all metal genres and for the headbangers present.

The Festival Area in Wiesen

Located at the northern end of Wiesen in Burgenland it covers an area of about 1.2 ha. The main stage is housed in a tent, which offers the metal audience protection from the sun and rain and opens up to the open-air area on one side. In addition, this is slightly uphill and opens into the foothills of an adjoining forest, offering an optimal view of the main stage even in the back areas.

The natural Camping Site

The park and camping area is located a few hundred meters from the festival grounds. This area was deliberately designed to be as natural as possible. Brambles and overgrown mounds serve as boundaries. Nevertheless, it is equipped with shower and toilet facilities that are connected to the local sewage system and maintained around the clock by cleaning staff. This means that Hell Awaits Festival is Dixie-free!

The Green Location

Wiesen was included in the catalog of the most environmentally conscious festival locations in Europe, received the Austrian Solar Prize 2015 and the Burgenland Environmental Prize 2016, and the festival site is also officially certified as a Green Location with the Austrian Ecolabel. You really can’t get any greener than this!
