One of the most beloved bands of the Greek public – Paradise Lost – returns to Athens, ready to give us another mystical night!
Words are superfluous in front of the masters of atmospheric doom/gothic metal. There are few cases of bands that enjoy universal appreciation for extreme musical sound and Paradise Lost is one of them.
Hailing from Halifax, the British, who… turn 30 this year, were destined to become one of the most important metal bands since the beginning of the genre. Gothic/Draconian Times/Icon are true masterpieces and should be in every record store. The same is true of their 15th album entitled “Medusa“, which was released in September 2017. We are talking about the wildest, angriest and, at the same time, melodic album of the last decade! Paradise Lost are coming to Greece (and) with him in their luggage…
The band was formed in 1988 and together with Anathema and My Dying Bride they essentially ”gave birth” to the death/doom metal subgenre. The band’s name was derived entirely from John Milton’s epic poem, Paradise Lost (1667). They single-handedly, after the release of ‘’Gothic’’, created a new term in metal, as well as a subgenre, Gothic metal. The band’s first three albums are the most representative examples of death/doom metal. Their lineup has remained remarkably stable for such a long-lived heavy metal band.
It consists of singer Nick Holmes, guitarists Greg Mackintosh and Aaron Aedy and bassist Steve Edmondson. Holmes and Mackintosh are the main composers, since almost all of the band’s songs are their own creations. The band has only changed drummers, with 23-year-old Waltteri Väyrynen… breaking up since 2016, “tying“ perfectly with the rest.
Paradise Lost, therefore, are returning to our country and their fanatical audience will be able to enjoy them on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Piraeus 117 Academy!

Μία από τις πιο αγαπημένες μπάντες του ελληνικού κοινού επιστρέφει στην Αθήνα, έτοιμη να μας χαρίσει άλλη μία μυσταγωγική βραδιά!
Τα λόγια περιττεύουν μπροστά στους μάστορες του ατμοσφαιρικού doom/gothic metal. Λίγες είναι οι περιπτώσεις συγκροτημάτων που χαίρουν καθολικής εκτίμησης στον extreme μουσικό ήχο και οι Paradise Lost συγκαταλέγονται σε αυτές.
Από το Halifax ορμώμενοι, οι Βρετανοί, που… κλείνουν τα 30 τους χρόνια φέτος, έμελλε να γίνουν ένα εκ των σημαντικότερων metal συγκροτημάτων από καταβολής του είδους. Τα Gothic/Draconian Times/Icon είναι πραγματικά αριστουργήματα και πρέπει να βρίσκονται σε κάθε δισκοθήκη. Το ίδιο συμβαίνει και με το 15ο άλμπουμ τους με τίτλο “Medusa“, που κυκλοφόρησε τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2017. Μιλάμε για τον πιο άγριο, θυμωμένο και, παράλληλα, μελωδικό δίσκο της τελευταίας δεκαετίας! Oι Paradise Lost έρχονται στην Ελλάδα (και) με αυτόν στις αποσκευές τους…
Το συγκρότημα δημιουργήθηκε το 1988 και μαζί με τους Anathema και τους My Dying Bride «γέννησαν», ουσιαστικά, το υποείδος death/doom metal.Το όνομα της μπάντας προήλθε εξ ολοκλήρου από το έπος του John Milton, Paradise Lost (1667). Μόνοι τους, μετά την κυκλοφορία του “Gothic”, δημιούργησαν και νέο όρο στο metal, όπως και υποείδος, το Gothic metal. Τα τρία πρώτα άλμπουμ του συγκροτήματος είναι τα πιο αντιπροσωπευτικά παραδείγματα του death/doom metal. Η σύνθεσή τους έχει παραμείνει αξιοσημείωτα σταθερή για μια τόσο μακρόβια heavy metal μπάντα.
Αποτελείται από τον τραγουδιστή Nick Holmes, τους κιθαρίστες Greg Mackintosh και Aaron Aedy και τον μπασίστα Steve Edmondson.Οι Holmes και Mackintosh είναι οι βασικοί συνθέτες, αφού σχεδόν όλα τα τραγούδια της μπάντας είναι δικές τους δημιουργίες.Το συγκρότημα, δηλαδή, έχει αλλάξει μόνο ντράμερς, με τον 23χρονο Waltteri Väyrynen να τα… σπάει από το 2016, «δένοντας» απόλυτα με τους υπόλοιπους.
Οι Paradise Lost, λοιπόν, επιστρέφουν στη χώρα μας και το φανατικό κοινό τους θα μπορέσει να τους απολαύσει το Σάββατο, 22 Δεκεμβρίου 2018, στο Piraeus 117 Academy!
