Премиерата на албума бе на 10 ноември и у нас се издава от Вирджиния Рекърдс/Sony Music. “Synthesis” съдържа селекция от най-обичаните и популярни песни на Evanescence, които музикантите преаранжират специално за проекта и записват със симфоничен оркестър. “Synthesis” е комбинация от акустичен и електронен звук като албумът включва виртуозни вокални и пиано изпълнения от Ейми Лий. Всички нови аранжименти на песните в албума са направени с дългогодишния творчески партньор на групата – прочутият композитор и аранжьор Дейвид Камбел. Миксът и програмирането в албума са дело на Уилям Хънт и Деймиън Тейлър (Björk, The Killers & Arcade Fire).
