Release Athens is back!

The great festival of Athens is coming to once again beautify our summer nights, with lots of fun, dancing and – above all – great music from some of the biggest names in the world scene.

The now legendary British dynamites who go by the name Jamiroquai, with the unique superstar Jay Kay in full form after last year’s adventure, will finally be with us, having already impressed on their return with a very good album (“Automaton“) and a series of amazing sold out performances all over the world. Words are unnecessary for one of the biggest and most successful groups of the funk / dance / pop scene of the last 25 years. One of the biggest repressed desires of the Greek audience will be satisfied in the most emphatic and revolutionary way, in a performance that no one should miss!

The co-headliner of the evening, the absolute star of electro-swing and downtempo, the (much loved in our country) Austrian musician and producer Parov Stelar, who will be with us again, after an absence of two years, with a new album. Every passing day he becomes more famous and loved throughout the world, mainly thanks to his unique ability to entertain the audience, who in his live performances dance, literally, from the first to the last minute of their duration.

The presence of these two headliners does not leave much room for choice. They invite you to come with the best possible mood and with dancing shoes!

Joining them will be the soulful American band Cigarettes After Sex, the band that has given us some of the most beautiful melodic songs that dominate Greek radio in the last two years (especially “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby“), an ideal touch of melody and romance as the sun sets – and before the wild party that the two big stars of the evening promise.

But we don’t end there. Two of the best names on the domestic scene will also be present. Sillyboy’s Ghost Relatives and Σtella will keep us company from early on in this Sunday music celebration.

As always, all of this will take place at Plateia Nerou, a beautiful space by the sea, with very easy and quick access from every part – and by every means of transport – of Athens.

Το Release Athens επιστρέφει!

Το μεγάλο φεστιβάλ της Αθήνας έρχεται για να ομορφύνει και πάλι τις καλοκαιρινές βραδιές μας, με πολύ κέφι, χορό και – πάνω απ’ όλα – υπέροχη μουσική από μερικά από τα μεγαλύτερα ονόματα της παγκόσμιας σκηνής.

Οι θρυλικοί, πλέον, Βρετανοί δυναμίτες που ακούν στο όνομα Jamiroquai, με τον μοναδικό superstar Jay Kay σε φουλ φόρμα μετά την περσινή περιπέτεια, θα είναι επιτέλους κοντά μας, έχοντας ήδη εντυπωσιάσει στην επιστροφή τους με ένα πολύ καλό album (“Automaton“) και μια σειρά από εκπληκτικές sold out εμφανίσεις σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο. Τα λόγια είναι περιττά για ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα και πιο επιτυχημένα groups της funk / dance / pop σκηνής των τελευταίων 25 χρόνων. Ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα απωθημένα του ελληνικού κοινού θα ικανοποιηθεί με τον πλέον εμφατικό και ξεσηκωτικό τρόπο, σε μία εμφάνιση που δεν πρέπει να χάσει κανείς!

Κάθε ημέρα που περνάει γίνεται όλο και πιο διάσημος και αγαπητός σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο, κυρίως χάρη στη μοναδική του ικανότητα να διασκεδάζει το κοινό, που στις live εμφανίσεις του χορεύει, κυριολεκτικά, από το πρώτο μέχρι το τελευταίο λεπτό της διάρκειάς τους.

Η παρουσία αυτών των δύο headliners δεν αφήνει πολλά περιθώρια επιλογής. Σας καλούν να προσέλθετε με την καλύτερη δυνατή διάθεση και με παπούτσια για χορό!

Μαζί τους, οι αισθαντικοί Αμερικανοί Cigarettes After Sex, η μπάντα που τα τελευταία δύο χρόνια μας έχει προσφέρει μερικά από τα ομορφότερα μελωδικά τραγούδια που κυριαρχούν στο ελληνικό ραδιόφωνο (ιδίως το “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby”), ιδανική πινελιά μελωδικότητας και ρομαντισμού, καθώς ο ήλιος θα δύει – και πριν επακολουθήσει το ξέφρενο πάρτυ που υπόσχονται οι δύο μεγάλοι stars της βραδιάς.
