Graspop Metal Meeting – 16-19 June 2022 – Dessel (BE)

Due to scheduling conflicts, Avenged Sevenfold unfortunately have decided to postpone their European tour, including their stop at Graspop Metal Meeting.
Statement from the band:
“To our utmost regret we will have to postpone our shows to a later date. We are in the midst of recording our 8th studio album, but the record and stage show will not be done in time. Playing the shows will delay things even further and we want to bring you our best with a new album and production. We hope you understand and look forward to the album’s release.”
Unfortunately, Of Mice & Men and Powerflo also had to cancel their performance at #GMM22. We are doing everything we can to find replacements as quickly as possible.

That’s right, Sabaton are our new headliners for Sunday 19 June!
Unfortunately Faith No More have decided to cancel next year’s European Tour. No worries though! GMM is proud to announce Within Temptation as their worthy replacements! The Dutch symphonic metal band will close out Main Stage 2 on Friday 17 June 2022

Gear up and sound the charge! Join us from 16-19 June 2022 for a no-holds-barred celebration of a quarter century of Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel. Tens of thousands of metalheads from across the globe united as one at the most versatile hard rock & metal festival in the Benelux. From heavy to black, from metalcore to hard rock, from punk to classic rock and lots more. #GMM22, the high mass of armour-piercing, spine-ripping, pit-smashing mayhem no metalhead wants to miss out on. The countdown has started!

AmarantheCreeper and Suicidal Tendencies have been confirmed for Thursday.

On Friday Perturbator and The Pretty Reckless are joining the party and we’re also adding more prominent names to our Saturday line-up with IhsahnMonster Magnet and the very successful A Day to Remember. The Florida natives always manage to impress with their unusual but thrilling mix of punk rock and metalcore. ‘You’re Welcome’ is the title of their latest effort that was scheduled for a 2020 release until Covid-19 decided otherwise. The guys themselves have promised another spine-breaking effort and we’ll take their word for it!

New on Sunday are Megadeth, a prominent member of the Big Four and always in for a blistering thrash party. For the better part of four decades, master composer and band leader Dave Mustaine has thrilled metal audiences worldwide with stellar compositions and extraordinary riffs. But there’s more fun to be had on the closing day of the 25th edition of GMM. The Americans from Spiritbox are dropping by and Belgian war machine Bütcher has vowed to raze the festival grounds.

Following the returns period a number of tickets have become available for our upcoming 25th edition. Get ready to pounce if you don’t have your ticket(s) yet. Presales start again as of 10 am next Monday 26 October 2020. More details here.

On 15 April we announced with a heavy heart that the 25th edition of GMM was postponed until 2021 but not to worry! Our painstaking efforts to make the four-day XL edition one for the history books did not go to waste. From 17- 20 June 2021 we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of our festival with a vengeance!

Despite having to work in often difficult circumstances the GMM team hasn’t been twiddling its thumbs in recent months. The goal was to roll over the entire line-up of the 25th XL edition to next year and barring a few exceptions we managed to do just that. We also have the bands to thank for this because they’re obviously straining at the leash for some live action.
Previously AEROSMITH were reconfirmed as our headliner for Sunday. The band fronted by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry can’t wait to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their inception with the fans and they plan to see GMM2021 out with a bang.
We have a new headliner for Thursday: Danish rock rebels VOLBEAT have always delivered a flawless performance in the past and they’ll settle for nothing less this time around.
We’ll get back to you with our main stage 1 headliner for Friday but what we can confirm is that we are welcoming back FAITH NO MORE to headline main stage 2.
There are no changes on Saturday and meanwhile both JUDAS PRIEST and KORN have confirmed their appearance.

To put the icing on the cake for our postponed anniversary edition we’ve added a bumper crop of new bands to the line-up and some of those names are finger-licking good. On Thursday 17 June BARONESSBLACK STAR RIDERSDROPKICK MURPHYSGOJIRAVOLBEATWARDRUNA and WHILE SHE SLEEPS are joining the party.
On Saturday JOYOUS WOLFKONTRUSTLEVARA and SAXON will pull out all the stops.
nd we’re also adding fresh blood to our Sunday roster with CROSSFAITHDIAMANTE and ENTHRONED.

In the meantime the lion’s share of metal fans have indicated they want to roll over their ticket for our cancelled 2020 edition.
