In collaboration with Žedno uho, The National returns to Croatia after six years as part of the sixteenth edition of INmusic festival!

The National are without a doubt fan favourites among Croatian concert-goers whose love and devotion for the band has been unwavering since their first and by now mythical performance at Zagreb’s KSET back in 2004. Thanks to Žedno uho and the band’s repeated returns to the local stages over the past twenty years, the band has built a loyal and solid fanbase which keeps growing by each new appearance and transcending set.   Since their last Croatian show in 2018, promoting the highly anticipated and award adorned album ‘Sleep Well Beast’, a lot has transpired – from a musical development and expansion into collaborative work and guest appearances by the likes of Sharon Van Etten, Justin Vernon, Lisa Hannigan, and many more, to private struggles with depression and facing the pandemic state of mind.  Although just two years ago the future of The National was uncertain and a new record seemed an unlikely reality due to a creative block and a state of disconnect among bend members, The National rebuilt their creative and personal connection through a shared musical sentiment and mutual support. The best testimony to the band’s newfound creative strength lies in their release of not just one great new record in this past year, but two great records – ‘First Two Pages of Frankenstein’ released in April followed by the surprise release of ‘Laugh Track’ in September of 2023. The National’s new era opens with a rebuilding of trust through the making of ‘First Two Pages of Frankenstein’ which serves as a sort of emotional inventory accentuated by guest appearances by Phoebe Bridgers, Sufjan Stevens and Taylor Swift while taking its full shape with the release of ‘Laugh Track’, the bands most reckless album in years, a vibrant musical exploration and product of their newly restored faith in oneself and one another. On the heels of the unique synergy of their latest sibling albums The National return to Croatia with a creative blaze and a special focus on the live performance and all its catalytic and cathartic potentials. With a special two hour long set at INmusic festival, The National will undoubtedly awe once again and reaffirm their status as one of the most beloved bands of our generation.

One of the most influential alternative rock bands to date, The Smashing Pumpkins, is set to make their first concert appearance in Croatia as the second announced headliner of INmusic festival #16!

The Smashing Pumpkins are one of the key music bands to shape and stand for the grunge sound of the nineties with their unique blend of psychedelic rock, progressive rock, heavy metal, shoegaze and electronica. The band was formed in Chicago in 1988 by frontman and guitarist Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha, bassist D’arcy Wretzky, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. The release of their debut album ‘Gish’ produced by Butch Vig propelled the band to the front row of the oncoming grunge wave that would grip the world music scene in the years to come. ‘Siamese Dream’ was released in 1993 to great commercial success thanks to hit singles ‘Today’, ‘Cherub Rock’, ‘Disarm’, and ‘Rocket’ as well as universal critical acclaim marking the multiplatinum album as one of the best alternative rock albums ever made. Only two years later The Smashing Pumpkins conceptual follow up album ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness’ debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 while singles ‘Bullet with Butterfly Wings’, ‘Tonight, Tonight’ and ‘1979’ earn the band their first Grammy award, two MTV Video Misic Awards and soon after an American Music Award for best alternative artist. Following turbulent years under the limelight and several band lineup changes, The Smashing Pumpkins said their goodbyes in 2000 with band members continuing to work on various side projects in the coming years. In 2005 Billy Corgan as the primary songwriter reforms The Smashing Pumpkins, followed by the release of five new studio albums, with James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin permanent return to the band in 2018. November 2022 marks the start of The Smashing Pumpkins release of the first act of their long-awaited three-part album ‘Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts’, with the third and final act released in May of 2023. ‘Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Acts’ is a three part studio released rock opera consisting of 33 individual songs that lean into the characters and subjects of ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness’ (1995) and ‘Machina/The Machines of God’ (2000) – an intriguing and ambitious testament to the immense creative energy and drive of a band that already has over 30 million albums sold worldwide, an undisputable artistic reputation and countless headline performances across the globe. The Smashing Pumpkins will make their debut Croatia appearance at the upcoming 16th edition of INmusic festival in June 2024.

The American punk-rock ensemble, The Gaslight Anthem, have released their long-anticipated new album and are set to return to Croatia as part of INmusic festival #16 in June 2024!

The Gaslight Anthem emerged from New Jersey’s vibrant punk scene blending influences from Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Wilson Pickett. The band comprises of Brian Fallon (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Alex Rosamilia (lead guitar, backing vocals), Alex Levine (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Benny Horowitz (drums, percussion). Their debut album, ‘Sink or Swim’, received acclaim from independent music review sites. Notably, their track ‘I’da Called You Woody, Joe’ was featured in the video games Skate 2 and Skate It. The band gained significant attention in Britain when Kerrang! dubbed them ‘The best new band you’ll hear in 2008.’  Recognized for their second album, The Gaslight Anthem made a breakthrough with their catchy, upbeat tunes and evocative lyrical storytelling. ‘The ‘59 Sound’ propelled them to well-deserved success. In 2015, following their European summer tour, The Gaslight Anthem announced an indefinite hiatus. During 2018, they briefly reunited for a series of shows to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their ‘The ’59 Sound’ album. Finally, in 2022, the band officially reassembled to collaborate on their sixth studio album ‘History Books’, marking their return to creating new music after nearly a decade.

Viagra Boys, Swedish post-punk sensation is a new addition to the already impressive music program of the INmusic festival #16!

Viagra Boys were formed after a lively night out at a karaoke bar in Stockholm in 2015. The name was chosen as a crude joke on modern masculinity, with songs serving up escapist narratives lacking any form of self-preservation; like an obscure back alley door into the backwaters of the human psyche. The band line-up currently features American lead singer Sebastian Murphy alongside Swedish musicians Linus Hillborg (guitar), Elias Jungqvist (keyboards), Henrik Höckert (bass), Tor Sjödén (drums), and Oscar Carls (saxophone).

Their musical journey commenced with the release of their debut EP ‘Consistency of Energy’ in 2016, followed by their inaugural full-length album ‘Street Worms’ in 2018. which was praised for its fusion of punk and funk elements. ‘Welfare Jazz’, their second album, was released in 2021, earning accolades as one of the year’s standout albums. Their third album, ‘Cave World’, released in July 2022, fetched them the prestigious Rock of the Year award at the Swedish 2023 Grammis.

After an excellent concert at the last edition of INmusic festival, Sleaford Mods are returning to the Jarun islands for INmusic festival #16!

Sleaford Mods, a praised British post-punk duo from Nottingham established in 2007, are known for their raw, ‘minimal and brutal’ musical style and their bitter explorations of British culture and working-class life in the era of austerity. The band consists of vocalist Jason Williamson and, since 2012, musician Andrew Fearn. The controversial and political songwriter and singer Jason Williamson often criticises the political and social situation of the British lower-middle class directly and honestly through his lyrics. Williamson has said that their lyrics are “about real people struggling to survive in a world that’s becoming increasingly hostile to them.”

Sleaford Mods gained attention from a wider audience and critical acclaim in 2014 with their seventh studio album, ‘Divide and Exit,’ in which they precisely and bluntly uncover the underbelly of Great Britain from the perspective of the neglected working class. Their globally praised eleventh studio album, ‘Spare Ribs,’ was released in January 2021 as a manifesto of an exhausted and demoralised pandemic society, where Sleaford Mods present the brutal truth, stripped to the bone, without illusions of quick or easy solutions. After an excellent debut performance in Croatia at the INmusic festival in 2022, Sleaford Mods returned to the studio and released ‘UK GRIM’ in 2023. This album is an electronic vision that truly addresses times that were anything but ‘precedent’. The pronounced instinctive energy that irresistibly moves bodies and minds brought ‘UK GRIM’ numerous praises from critics and the audience.
