In 2023, Metalhead Meeting celebrates 10 years since the first edition and returns to the 3-day format and will take place between May 26 and 28 at Romexpo, outdoors. The headliner of the festival is the American band PANTERA, the band considered to be one of the greatest metal bands of all time. The band will take the stage on Saturday, May 27. Phil and Rex sing with Charlie Benante from Anthrax and Zakk Wylde.

The quartet consisting of Phillip Anslemo, guitarist Dimebag Darrell, his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul and bassist Rex Brown quickly achieved massive global success in the 90s with multiple platinum and gold albums, sold out tours, ferocious live shows and four Grammy Award nominations. Even today, their songs are considered masterpieces of metal music and true cornerstones of heavy metal music on albums such as Cowboys From Hell, Vulgar Display Of Power and the album that reached number 1 in Billboard, Far Beyond Driven. The four Texans have continued to inspire many bands while amassing millions of devoted fans around the world.
Few of us hoped for a reunion, but this is now possible at the METALHEAD Meeting. The band reunited and headlines most festivals around the world.
There is far too much to say about the history of Pantera. After four albums in the classic style of the 80s, in 1990, Pantera revolutionized metal with “Cowboys from Hell”. Considered among the first Groove Metal materials, “Cowboys from HELL” was the disc that transformed Pantera into a top band. The album also put them on the stage of the legendary show in Moscow, “Monsters Of Rock”, in 1991 together with Metallica, AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, Queensrÿche and The Black Crowes where they sang in front of 1.6 million spectators.
They followed “Vulgar Display of Power”, considered by fans and critics as one of the best metal albums in history, then “Far Beyond Driven”, material that reached the first position in the Billboard 200 and which reached the milestone the fastest of 1,000,000 sales from the Pantera catalog.
The next, “The Great Southern Trendkill”, album on which Dimebag demonstrates his mastery as a guitarist. The solo of the song “Floods” is considered by many to be the best solo of the artist, Guitar World including it on the 32nd position in the list of the best solos of all time.
“Reinventing the Steel”, is the last disc where these 4 geniuses of music, Dimebag, Rex, Vinnie and Phil can be heard together. The song “Revolution Is My Name” was also nominated for the Grammy awards for Best Metal Performance.
Pantera is synonymous with legend, a cult band for rock and metal listeners of any age, a name that can always be placed alongside the great bands of the genre such as Metallica, Iron Maiden or AC/DC/. And we will see them live in Bucharest at the METALHEAD Meeting.

New bands, one-day tickets and Cowboys from Hell sold out at Metalhead Meeting Festival

Korpiklaani (folk metal – Fi), Leprous (progressive metal – No), Beast in Black (power metal – Fi), Mister Misery (horror metal – Swe), Beyond the Black (symphonic metal – De), Last Hope (hardcore – Bg) and Adam’s Parade (punk rock – Au) will go up on the MAIN STAGE Metalhead Meeting.

The festival will take place between May 26 and 28 at Romexpo in Parking C and celebrates 10 years since the first edition! Another headliner is to be announced for Saturday, May 27, the day Pantera performs.

The bands join the lineup that already includes PANTERA, Ville Valo (H.I.M.) and Life of Agony.

Ville Valo, Korpiklaani, Beyond the Black and Adam’s Parade will play on May 26, Pantera, another headliner to be confirmed, Beast in Black, Last Hope and OYD on May 27 and Life of Agony, Leprous, Black Sonic Pearls, Mister Misery and 12 Limbs on May 28

Soon we will find out the final lineup on SECOND STAGE as well as its complete program. Currently the bands confirmed there are Black Tooth (Sludge – Tr), Fueled by Fear (Metalcore – Su), Ironwill (heavy metal – It), Magnetic (heavy metal – Bg), Nest of Plagues (deathcore – Hu), Spektrvm (heavy metal – Gr), Diosa (rock – USA), Psycorepaths (groove metal – Gr) and Disillusive Play (hard rock – Gr).

We also inform you that at the request of the fans, we have also introduced one-day tickets at the price of 277 lei + taxes (final price 299 lei) but ONLY in the Concrete Sledge (B) category. Attention, only 1000 one-day tickets are for sale each day due to lack of space (a lot of three-day subscriptions were sold).

We remind you that a three-day subscription costs only 369 lei + taxes at Concrete Sledge (B).
