The Cat Empire bring to Bucharest the hits that brought them to the international charts and Subcarpati will offer a summer “Celebration” and many surprises along with many special guests.

For over a decade, The Cat Empire have been known as one of the hottest bands in the world when it comes to fun and good cheer. Their colorful music has traveled the world and is difficult to describe and very difficult to categorize. The band’s reputation was built on a chaotic and powerful live show, a show seen during the most recent tour that also passed through Bucharest by over half a million fans who bought tickets to the band’s concerts.

Subcarpați is an explosive mix between traditional Romanian music and today’s beats. An eclectic combination through which we reoxygenate ourselves with Romanian folklore, traditional instruments and trip-hop, dubstep, rap or dancehall rhythms. “It’s about breaking down the borders to discover a new Balkan sound, a shared culture,” said Bean MC about the band’s latest album.

The Grime Brothers, The Mono Jacks, Cred Ca Sunt Extraterestru, Fantome and Argatu are five of the strongest names in the Bucharest music underground, bands with only one artist and one that fills the clubs to capacity. Pop Evil unfortunately canceled their European tour and we will see them in Bucharest another time.

Skillet formed in 1996 in Memphis, Tennessee, and the current lineup includes John (lead vocals/bass) and Korey Cooper (rhythm guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Seth Morrison (lead guitar) and Jen Ledger. Jon Cooper is the only original member who remains in the band. Over the course of their 20-plus year career, SKILLET have released 7 albums, two of which have been certified platinum by the RIAA and one gold.

The band’s latest, “Unleashed“, was released in August of last year and was very well received by both fans and the specialized press. Skillet is known for the ambition and dedication they show on tour and beyond, so in 2010, Songkick.ro ranked them 5th in the Hardest Working Bands of 2010. To date, the band has taken to the stages of some of the biggest festivals in Europe, such as Rock AM Ring and has toured with Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Seether, Shinedown, Puddle Of Mud and many others.

Subcarpați e un mix exploziv între muzici tradiționale românești și beat-urile zilei de azi. Fratii Grime, The Mono Jacks, Cred Ca Sunt Extraterestru, Fantome si Argatu sunt cinci dintre cele mai puternice nume ale undergroundului muzical Bucureștean, trupe cu artisti numai unul si unul care umplu cluburile la refuz. Pop Evil din pacate si-au anulat turneul european si ii vom vedea cu alta ocazie la Bucuresti.
