Simple Minds, the legendary Scottish rock band led by Jim Kerr, will arrive at the Pula Arena for the first time on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
Favorites of the local audience will perform at the most spectacular outdoor concert venue in Croatia, perhaps the most beautiful that this part of Europe has. One of the most important island pop rock bands in history held a sold-out concert at Zagreb’s Šalata stadium in June 2022, and the sensational performance in front of 5,000 fans took place as part of a major world tour. This time, the two-thousand-year-old amphitheater will be the perfect stage on which Simple Minds will recall megahits from their entire career and bring the best of their oeuvre.
Since the 1970s, Simple Minds have established themselves as one of the UK’s most famous bands, selling more than 60 million records worldwide, with singles topping the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. The band has recorded as many as five number one albums in the UK – “Sparkle In The Rain” (1984), “Once Upon A Time” (1985), “Street Fighting Years”, as well as the recording “Live In The City Of Light ” (1987), and the compilation “Glittering Prize 81/92”.
Over the last decade, they have confirmed their influence and shown that they are still a musical force performing in front of tens of thousands of fans around the world. The rich catalog of hits performed by Simple Minds includes timeless classics such as “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”, “Alive & Kicking”, “Belfast Child”, “Promised You A Miracle”, “Glittering Prize”, “Waterfront”, “Sanctify Yourself”, “Someone Somewhere in Summertime”, “Alive and Kicking”, “Sanctify Yourself” as well as numerous others from more than four decades of career.
Simple Minds are known as a fantastic live band that doesn’t allow the audience even a second of rest through hours of performances. While The Guardian says of the recent performances that the band looks like they have just started their career and brings an unwavering energy, Jim Kerr clearly says that they are very strong on stage: “Concerts are the lifeblood of Simple Minds, it is the place where we and the audience come alive and let’s feel the energy through music.”
At the same time, the band proved its creative power, so the 2015 album “Big Music” is described by the media as their best in the last 30 years, “Walk Between Worlds” took them on a big tour in the USA, while the last “Direction Of The Heart” ” entered the top 10 lists of the best albums worldwide. In the Pula Arena, the legendary rock band Simple Minds brings the absolutely most important songs from its rich catalog.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, December 8, from 10:00 a.m. in the Eventim system and at their points of sale. Early bird prices are 59 euros for ground floor seating, 77 euros for tribune seating and 48 euros for grass section seating, and are valid until December 31.
