Още един фестивал в нашата част на Европа (Европа??) падна – бяха предвидени банди като The Kooks, Röyksopp, Editors и Biffy Clyro. Организаторите обещават повечето от изпълнителите да гостуват на самостоятелни концерти. Ето и пълното съобщение:
“Although we wish never to have posted such a thing, it is with the deepest regret that we inform you that Spellground Festival will no longer take place from August 12 to 14.
This irrevocable decision comes as a result of a solicitation from our official partner, the Ovidius University of Constanța. Being a public education institute, the University is compelled to respect the day of August 13 as a national day of mourning.
Because 70% of our shows were to take place in their space (the Masterground area), we must adapt to this solicitation: no musical manifestations. And without music, there is no festival.
We tried to cancel only the events taking place on August 13, but without the income from Saturday, we are not able to sustain the other 2 days of the festival. Plus, the artists from Saturday couldn’t be moved to Friday or Sunday.
The international artists will be rescheduled in individual concerts, during the 2016-2017 season. We will return with exact dates as quickly as possible. We are in advanced talks with most of them.
We know you are disappointed and we feel the same. We’ve been working for 8 months to make Spellground what we promised it to be. All our efforts and resources have been scattered in one day.
We ask for your apology and assure you that everyone who bought tickets, passes, accommodation at hotels or camping, will get their money back. Their equivalent value will be recovered starting August 12, all across the ticketing networks from where they were bought, according to procedures that will be announced starting tomorrow, August 6, on our website.”
